U4GM FH6: Collect Every Discover Japan Friend

Meeting the full cast of Friends in Forza Horizon 6 is a smart early move, especially if you're trying to push the Discover Japan Journal without turning the whole thing into a grind. You'll pick up points just for being introduced to people, and a lot of those introductions happen while you're doing normal Horizon stuff anyway. It also fits neatly alongside racing, exploring, tuning, and building up your balance ofย FH6 Creditsย as you move through the opening hours.

Why Friends Are Worth Chasing

Friends aren't just names tucked away in a menu. Each one gives 10 Discover Japan Points the first time you meet them, so the full set of 19 adds up to 190 points. That's a nice bump on its own, but the better reason to care is that several Friends are tied to bigger story threads. Finish those, and the point rewards get much larger. It's the kind of progress you can feel early on, when Wristbands and Journal tiers still matter a lot.

Where Most Players Find Their First Friends

The first batch comes through the main campaign, so don't overthink it. As you work toward your early Wristband progress, characters such as Mei Hasegawa, Jordan Chambers, Yuji Kono, Keiko Tamaguchi, Helena Marston, and ANNA are added naturally. There's no secret route, no odd challenge, and no need to replay races. Just keep following the campaign markers. If you're new, this is probably the easiest part of the Friend list to fill because the game basically hands it to you.

Radio Hosts Are Easy to Miss

The radio Friends catch people out because they don't feel like collectibles. You unlock them by spending time with different stations while driving. Switch between Bass Arena, Block Party, Gacha City Radio, Hospital, Opus, Pulse, Sub Pop, Wave, and XS as you travel around the map. Hosts such as Scott Tyler, Carla Rose, Toko Ito, Chris Goss, Dynamite MC, Takehiro Sato, Amy Simpson, Abbie Gobeli, Atticus George-Andrijeski, Isabel Moss, and Simon Neil will introduce themselves after a while. A good habit is to change stations between events instead of leaving one channel on for hours.

Storyline Friends and Big Point Rewards

Drift Club Japan brings in Isamu Hamada, Midori Nakamoto, and Robert Glenn. You don't need a perfect drift build, either, since the game gives you suitable cars for the chapters. Moto Auto Zine is even quicker at the start, with Larry Chen joining your Journal after the first chapter. These side stories are worth doing beyond the Friend entries. Day Trips can award up to 2,700 Discover Japan Points, while Drift Club Japan, Moto Auto Zine, and Yuji's Auto can each offer up to 1,800 points when fully cleared.

Final Thoughts

The cleanest way to finish the Friend collection is to stack activities instead of treating it like a checklist. Push the early campaign, rotate radio stations while you drive, then knock out Drift Club Japan and Moto Auto Zine once they open up. You'll fill the Journal faster, earn useful rewards, and get exposed to more of the game's best side content. It's also a nice excuse to test differentย FH6 Carsย across races, drift events, and open-road cruising without feeling like you're wasting time.
